Alps Challenge Gallery Updated

Our gallery of images from the Alps Challenge is up and running, featuring exclusive shots of the trip as well as our celebrity supporters, including Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Ade Adepitan and Nicolas Hamilton.

We also managed to squeeze in a sneaky shot of Disabled Motoring UK CEO Graham Footer proudly displaying his Norwich City shirt on the roof of Europe, following their promotion to the Premier League.

We hope to update our YouTube channel with some more footage from the trip in the coming days, but in the meantime grab yourself a cup of tea and settle down for a 40 image romp across Europe on board a 1932 Mobility trike.

Only six-months in and 2011 is turning into a fantastic year

With today marking the unofficial halfway point of the year, we thought it prudent to look back at the first 6 months of 2011 at The Lively Crew.

The year began well with two new additions to the team. Andrew Lawn joined us as Marketing Manager fresh from fighting Tesco in his hometown of Sheringham. Six months into his new role and Andy is loving his new role: "I love being at The Lively Crew, we have a great range of clients and everyday is completely different. We also have a fantastic team, which combined with the varied, interesting and satisfying work, makes coming in everyday a pleasure." Joining Andy in January, was Robert Ediker who joined as a Marketing Apprentice while studying for an NVQ through Broadland Council Training Services. Robert has shone in his first six-months and has become an invaluable member of the team and cult hero.

Since then we have also been able to welcome two further members of staff, without losing anybody from the tight-knit team. Jodie McGill joined in May as Business Development Executive and was swiftly followed by Andrew Clarke, who's IT wizardry impressed whilst he was on a Work Experience placement here at our Norwich HQ, leading to 'Clarkson' joining as an Marketing and Events Assistant.

In part the growth of the business this year came from two big client wins.

We were very proud to organise and manage the Alps Challenge for national charity Disabled Motoring UK. We were able to attract new high-profile supporters to the charity including Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, motor-racing star Nicolas Hamilton and children's TV presenter Ade Adepitan. We also managed the publicity of the event and were delighted to acheive £100,000s worth of coverage, including features on the BBC, ITV, Sky News and The Telegraph for the charity, boosting their national and international profile.

2011 has also seen us add to our range of Online Business Directories, after a deal with South Norfolk Council to add South Norfolk to Breckland and Broadland. We launched the new directory with a free business networking event on June 21st to widespread acclaim. We are proud to promote local businesses and now manage the listings of over 11,000 local businesses.

In all it has been a fantastic and exciting six-months here at The Lively Crew's Norwich HQ - here's to an equally enjoyable end to 2011.

Alps Challenge Team Expected Home Tomorrow - Just in Time for Launch of South Norfolk Online Business Directory

The triumphant Alps Challenge team, including The Lively Crew director and marketeer Valerie Bullard, are on course to make their date with MPs at the Houses of Parliament tomorrow.

13 days after children's TV presenter Ade Adepitan led the team off Queen's House, Greenwich the team and trike have made it across the Swiss Alps, where they were joined by motor-racing star Nicolas Hamilton, and are on the way home. Weary, but unbroken the trike (and team) are scheduled to arrive in London tomorrow afternoon, where Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson will take over for the final leg, over Westminster Bridge, passed Big Ben and across the Finish Line opposite the Houses of Parliament.

The day will cap an impressive trip for the team, who have not only covered over 1,800 miles and climbed nearly 19,000ft but have also raised the profile of Disabled Motoring UK ten-fold. This was something we were tasked with and we are delighted to have not only acheived that, but also broadened the demographics that Disabled Motoring UK appeal to by securing the support of some notable celebrities. We can only thank Ade Adepitan, Nicolas Hamilton and Tanni Grey-Thompson for getting involved and for supporting both The Lively Crew and Disabled Motoring UK in the Alps Challenge.

One final mention should go to our Event Exectuive Barbara Reed who has worked tirelessy on making sure this international event has gone flawlessly. Barbara's expertise and commitment is the reason that The Lively Crew is now a Marketing and Events Agency and deliver any event need, from full-scale management, to attendance and everything in between.

The team are back just in time for the next big The Lively Crew event, with the launch of the South Norfolk Online Business Directory which is taking place with a free networking event for businesses based in South Norfolk at Park Farm Hotel, Hethersett on Tuesday 21st June.

The event will see the directory officially launched and is the culmination of months of database building and management work behind the scenes at The Lively Crew. With the South Norfolk directory about to join the Breckland and Broadland equivalents we already manage - we now cover over 11,000 businesses across Norfolk.

If you are a business based in South Norfolk and would like to be involved on Tuesday, please call Sue Morter on 08456 345 185.

Alps Challenge homecoming and South Norfolk Online Directory launch preperations underway but interupted by trouser connundrum

Preperations for the homecoming of the Alps Challenge team are well underway at The Lively Crew's Norwich HQ this week.

Invites to the gala reception with MPs at the Houses of Parliament on Thursday (16th) have been flying out of the door all day, with Barbara in her organisational, white-board laden zone. We have also received some excellent news regarding press coverage of the event and we are hoping to follow this up in the coming days - particularly by getting BBC Radio 4, who covered Denny's original trip back in 1947, to come along. Fingers crossed.

We have also had attendees for our upcoming South Norfolk Online Directory launch coming thick and fast and the event on Tuesday 21st June at Park Farm Hotel looks like it will be an excellent day. If you are a South Norfolk business and you want to come along to this FREE event call Sue Morter or Jodie McGill on 08456 345 185 ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Finally the day took a turn for the obscure with the arrival of a man in the office who was keen to point out his friendship with Chelmsford's main Ford Dealer, before leaving again whilst mid-sentence about stitching said friends trousers. Interesting.

We are also getting alot of positive feedback about our new website, launched with the offer of a free marketing diagnostic and to celebrate our recent expansion to become a fully fledged Marketing AND Events Agency. If you have any comments on the site - good or bad - please don't hesitate to let us know.
