London has recognised the importance of its local cafe society and celebrates with “London Coffee Week” every year.
With over 60 independent coffee shops plus numerous national chains serving coffee, tea and other delights within the centre of Norwich, the city can boast a similarly rich cafe environment. (A Barista position in hospitality is now recognised as a career in its own right).
The Norfolk and Norwich Food Festival started many years ago in Norwich and now boasts one of the best food festivals in the UK.
Your chance to get involved and promote your business at the same time.
We are holding the first Norfolk and Norwich Food Festival Barista Championships.
Friday 5th September 2014
10am – 4pm at the Forum.
Free to enter ( we are limited on numbers) local coffee makers can participate in the championship to be crowned “Local Barista Of The Year” National judges will award points for technical ability, milk quantity and presentation. The event will be open to the public and will help to raise the profile of your business as well as the cafe society in the city.
Coffee and CakesOn the same day we will be serving coffee and cakes to members of the public and staff from local businesses who will be encouraged to visit The Forum to learn more about your business and the local cafe society.
There will be room to promote your business and to get involved with serving up delicious tastes which represent your business. If you want to participate in cake making/decorating demonstrations there will be room to do that.
It is free to get involved all we ask is you supply us with cakes and other delicacies from your business as we will be raising funds for charity by selling vouchers for coffee and cakes.
Vouchers sold and collected in will capture names and addresses of local people for future promotional activity which you will have access to. These vouchers will also go in a prize draw for a coffee machine, or two.
It’s Not Just One Day You also have the opportunity to supply us with a promotional offer for your shop to encourage supporters of the day to visit your cafe at a later date. This will be printed as a promotional sheet or booklet (depending on numbers) and handed out to voucher holders when they collect their coffee and cake.
The event is all about raising the profile of the cafe establishments in Norwich. It is all about your business and we hope you will want to
be part of the day.
